What's In It for You: New Online Resources
POD has launched two new online programs this year: The Learning Lab and the Leadership Café. Here’s a quick overview.
Powered by Skillsoft Percipio and customized for the UW, The Learning Lab online platform delivers an immersive learning experience with highly engaging content curated into dozens of channels. Subscriptions run through the end of the year.
The Learning Lab includes Skillsoft’s complete Leadership Development Program, which is instructionally, functionally, and aesthetically designed to support accelerated learning of leadership principles, encourage effective recall of concepts, and facilitate dynamic workplace application.
While all courses in the Leadership Development Program are less than 60 minutes, with a maximum of 45 minutes of video-based instruction, each is broken down into 5-8 minute video segments to support single-concept microlearning. Each course also features a reflective question, knowledge checks throughout the topics for optimal recall, and a final post-course assessment.
In addition, through The Learning Lab, you can:
- Engage in self-development at your own pace.
- Choose to watch, read, or listen content to suit your learning style and needs.
- Customize the interface by selecting areas of interest and creating a list of favorites.
- Download the free Percipio mobile app for learning on the go.
You don’t have to go it alone! Before you subscribe, consider The Learning Lab Interactive, which pairs your subscription with a development partner, Lee Davis, who will provide one-on-one coaching, help you set learning goals, and keep you accountable throughout the year.
The Leadership Café is a free online resource featuring curated content from all areas of Total Talent Management (TTM), including:
- A leadership story video with Ujima Donalson
- New microlearning modules in the form of downloadable and printable PDFs
- Interviews with TTM employment specialists and other staff so that you can better understand their work, changes in recruiting and staffing, and opportunities for partnership
- Links to existing planning tools and resources
- Links to articles featuring or written by POD consultants as well as POD partners
- Information about POD leadership offerings
We will be adding more content regularly, so please bookmark the site and check back often. In addition, if you have a relevant article or post we can link to or would like to write a post sharing what you learned at a recent conference or other learning event, please contact pod@uw.edu.
