Fresh Offerings at the Spring Retreat
Gina Moore, Consulting Services Coordinator, Professional & Organizational Development

Having joined POD last spring, this will be my first time fully involved in the Support Professionals Spring Retreat, a phenomenal annual event now celebrating its fifteenth year. By relying on my colleagues’ input and tapping into new talent, I feel confident that this year’s event is full of fresh opportunities while maintaining the flavor and overall structure participants have come to know and love.

This one-day conference promotes on-the-job success and personal growth, with a special focus this year on resilience, adaptability, wellness, and transformation.

We’ve invited three members of the University Consulting Alliance to present sessions: Pat Hughes on enhancing your work environment, Posy Gering on building resilience, and Jayant Swamy on group dynamics. We’re also excited to have Whole U favorite Danny Arguetty show participants how to untangle their stress. In addition, the retreat features presenters who have been extremely well-received at past events along with members of POD’s own training and consulting team.

Along with a variety of new sessions this year, participants can enjoy table topics during lunch and enhanced networking opportunities throughout the day. In addition, participants will receive credit towards POD’s new Administrative Excellence certificate and have the opportunity to sign up for the online portal Leadership Advantage at a reduced rate.

Those who attend this event represent the future of the University of Washington; many are tomorrow’s administrators, managers, and leaders. I hope you will take advantage of this special opportunity to reward key administrative staff members and foster their development by encouraging their attendance at this year’s retreat. Learn more.
